Update your profile and account settings

Managing Your Account

Learn how to manage your Changelogy account settings and profile.

Accessing Account Settings

Click your profile icon → Settings

Profile Information

Full Name

  • Displayed to team members
  • Shown on changelog posts you create
  • Optional but recommended

Email Address

  • Used for sign-in
  • Receives notifications
  • Must be verified

Changing Email

  1. Go to Settings → Profile
  2. Update email field
  3. Click "Save Changes"
  4. Verify new email address

Security

Changing Password

  1. Go to Settings → Account
  2. Click "Change Password"
  3. Enter current password
  4. Enter new password
  5. Confirm new password
  6. Click "Update Password"

Password Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • Mix of letters and numbers recommended
  • Avoid common passwords

Two-Factor Authentication

Coming soon! We're working on adding 2FA for enhanced security.

Sign-In Methods

Email & Password

Traditional sign-in with email and password.

Google OAuth

Sign in with your Google account:

  • Faster authentication
  • No password to remember
  • Uses Google's security

Privacy Settings

Cookie Preferences

Manage your cookie consent:

  1. Go to Settings → Privacy
  2. Toggle analytics cookies
  3. Toggle marketing cookies
  4. Click "Save Preferences"

Cookie Types:

  • Necessary: Required for functionality (always on)
  • Analytics: Help us improve the product
  • Marketing: Personalized content

Deleting Your Account

⚠️ Warning: This action cannot be undone!

To delete your account:

  1. Go to Settings → Account
  2. Scroll to "Delete Account"
  3. Click "Delete My Account"
  4. Enter your password
  5. Confirm deletion

What gets deleted:

  • Your user profile
  • All organizations you own
  • All changelog posts in your organizations
  • Team memberships
  • All data associated with your account

What doesn't get deleted:

  • Changelog posts you created in other people's organizations (reassigned to organization owner)

Account Recovery

If you forget your password:

  1. Go to sign-in page
  2. Click "Forgot password?"
  3. Enter your email
  4. Check email for reset link
  5. Create new password

Reset links expire after 1 hour.

Data Export

Want to export your data?

  1. Go to Settings → Account
  2. Click "Export Data"
  3. Receive export via email

Includes:

  • Organizations
  • Changelog posts
  • Profile information

Format: JSON

Account Suspension

Accounts may be suspended for:

  • Violation of Terms of Service
  • Payment issues
  • Abusive behavior

If suspended, contact support to resolve.
